Thank You Lord

Let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for mankind, for He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things. Psalm 107:8,9.

It is by the grace of the Lord that we are still alive. Great is the love and faithfulness of the Lord towards our life. Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness - Lamentations 3:22-23. Let us look back what God has done in our life this year and be grateful to Him.
God had satisfied us with many good things. God’s grace, joy, peace, mercy and blessings are abundant on our life. Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases,  Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,  Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. Psalm 103:2-5.
Let us give thanks to God for protecting us from all evil. He is our provider and He had met all our needs. He had done wonderful deeds in our life. He had blessed us more than what we have thought and imagined. Let us take time to thank for His direction, wisdom and guidance in our lives. He had helped us in all our situations thus far. He named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.”  - 1 Samuel 7:12.

PRAYER:  Dear Lord, Your love is great. We thank You for all the goodness in our life throughout this year. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

God Is Our Shield

The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him. Psalm 28:7.

God is our shield. But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head - Psalm 3:3. He shields us from the power of enemies. You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in Your word - Psalm 119:114. God is our protector and shield when we trust Him. Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him - Proverbs 30:5.
David won all the battles against his enemies in war as God was his shield. Blessed be the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle - My lovingkindness and my fortress, My high tower and my deliverer, My shield and the One in whom I take refuge, Who subdues my people under me - Psalm 144:1-2.  As God is our shield, He will protect us from all the attacks of our enemies.
God is our shield when we live under the shadow of the Lord Almighty. His truth shall be your shield and buckler - Psalm 91:4. There is no need to fear about anything in our life as the Lord is our shield. For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor. No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly - Psalm 84:11.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are our shield. We thank You for Your divine protection in our life. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

The Glory of God

Yes, they shall sing of the ways of the Lord, For great is the glory of the Lord. Psalm 138:5.

The earth is full of God’s glory. And one cried to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!” - Isaiah 6:3. I am the Lord, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another, Nor My praise to carved images - Isaiah 42:8. Let us give glory to God for all the great things He had done in our life,
Christ in us is the hope of glory. To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory - Colossians 1:27. Let us do everything for the glory of God.  “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31).
We are created for the glory of God. Everyone who is called by My name, Whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him – Isaiah 43:7. Let us desire greater God’s glory in our life. Like Moses, let us ask God to reveal His glory in our life.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are the most glorious God. Help us to seek Your glory and dwell in Your glory. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

The Gift Of Salvation

For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. -Titus 2:11.

God offers free gift of salvation to everyone who believes Jesus Christ as Lord. John 3:16 promises, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord - Romans 6:23.
We can be saved only by our Lord Jesus Christ. Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved - Acts 4:12. We are privileged to receive the gift of salvation from God. God had chosen us and predestined us to become the children of Him. Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift - II Cor. 9:15.
We are saved by the grace of God through faith. When we call on the name of the Lord, we will be saved. For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved - Romans 10:13. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8).

PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You for offering us the gift of salvation. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

God With Us, For Us & In Us

I am with you always, even to the end of the age - Mathew 28:20.

God is with us
We are not alone as God is always with us. He is with us in every moments of our life. “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” - Mathew 1:23. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us - John 1:14. God is with us all the time.
God is for us
God gave His own son for us to be our Savior. If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? - Romans 8:31, 32. The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?" (Psalm 118:6). God is for us and He is our refuge and strength.
God is in us
God is living in us. The Holy spirit is our helper who teaches us all things and guides us. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you - John 14:26. “I am crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me.” - Galatians 2:20.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You for coming to this world to be always with us, for us and in us. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Our Redeemer

God gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good – Titus 2:14.

Jesus Christ is our redeemer. He came to earth to redeem us as He wanted us not to be perished. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance -2 Peter 3:9. God desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth - 1 Timothy 2:4.
We are redeemed by the precious blood of Christ. Colossians 1:14 says, “In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.” I Peter 1:18-19 says, “For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.”
No matter what troubles that may come our way, just know that our redeemer lives. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world – John 16:31. I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth – Job 19:25. Let our not fear about anything as our living redeemer holds our future.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are our redeemer. We thank You for redeeming us by Your precious blood. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

The Birth of Jesus Christ

"Then the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord" (Luke 2:9-10).

The shepherds were the first to hear about the birth of Christ. Luke 2:8-9 says, "Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid." The shepherds trembled with fear when they saw an angel. But the angel told them the joyous news that the Savior Jesus Christ is born this day.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” – Luke 2:13,14. The shepherds went to Bethlehem and found Jesus lying on a Manger. They told others what they had seen and heard. All those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds - Luke 2:18.
God Himself came from heaven to be our Savior. Christ is our Savior, meaning, “He will save His people from their sins” (Matt. 1:21). Angels and the shepherds spread the good news about the birth of Christ. Let us spread the good news about our Savior to all people. How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, Who proclaims peace, Who brings glad tidings of good things, Who proclaims salvation, Who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!” -  Isaiah 52:7.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are our Savior. Help us to spread the good news that You are the Savior to all people. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

In the Fullness of Time

But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we                   might receive the adoption as sons. Galatians 4:4,5.

Jesus arrived the world and revealed Himself to us in the fullness of time. God promised David that his throne will be established forever. And your house and your kingdom shall be established forever before you. Your throne shall be established forever - 2 Samuel 7:16. Isa. 9:6-7 prophesied that the Messiah would be David’s descendant and that he would be a king sitting on David’s throne.
Jesus came from heaven to earth at right time to redeem us and save us from our sins. For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost - Luke 19:10. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief - 1 Timothy 1:15. And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins  - Mathew 1:21.
God had redeemed us and we are no longer slaves but heir of God through Christ. He has poured out His Spirit upon us and we have received the spirit of adoption as sons.  All who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God - Romans 8:14. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba,Father.” - Romans 8:15.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You for revealing Yourself to us in the fullness of time.We thank You for redeeming us and adopting us as Your own children. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Silent Night

For with God nothing will be impossible – Luke 1:37.

Mary got a promise from God that she will bring forth a son called Jesus. But just before the birth of Jesus, she faced many struggles and difficulties. Few days before delivery, they travelled from Nazareth to Bethlehem to register for the census which Mary would not have expected. There were many disappointments for Mary when they arrived at Bethlehem. There was no room for them in the inn. So they went to a stable and there Jesus was born.
Though Jesus was born in a silent night, it was not a silent night for Mary. But she believed that all things are possible with God and His promises will never fail. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn - Luke 2:7.
Let the God of peace fill our hearts with peace and hope in all our situations. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus - Philippians 4:6-9.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are the God of peace. Fill us with Your peace and hope in midst of all our situations. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

There Was No Room In The Inn

And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn – Luke 2:7.

Mary and Joseph went to Bethlehem from Nazareth to register for the census. Luke 2:4-6: “Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered.”
There was no room in the inn as there was census in Bethlehem. So Mary and Joseph went to a stable behind the inn and there Jesus was born. He was wrapped in swaddling cloths and laid in a manger. Jesus’ humble birth teaches us how humble we should be in our life. And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”- Luke 9:58.
Jesus came to make room for us though there was no room for Him during His birth. John 14:2-3 says  "In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let us prepare our heart to make room for You. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Light Of The World

God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 1 John 1:5.

Jesus came as a light into the world so that we will not abide in darkness. I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness - John 12:46. He is the true light who gives light to every man. The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world - John 1:9.
God’s light has shined on us when we walked in darkness. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it - John 1:4-5. The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them a light has shined - Isaiah 9:2.
When we follow Jesus, we will have the light of life. I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life - John 8:12. We are the light of the world. You are the light of the world…Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven - Matthew 5:14a, 16.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are the light of the world. Let Your light shine on us and let us be the light of the world. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Prophesies Fulfilled About The Birth Of Christ

For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us - 2 Corinthians 1:20.

In the very first book of the Old Testament, the first promise about the coming of Christ was given. And I will put enmity between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel - Genesis 3:15. In Mathew chapter 1, we see the genealogy of Jesus which refers to Him as the son of David, the son of Abraham. And through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed - Genesis 22:18.
The prophet Isaiah said about the birth of Christ nearly 600 years ago before the birth of Jesus. Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel - Isaiah 7:14. We see about the fulfillment of this prophecy in Matthew 1:18-25 and Luke 1:26-38.
In Micah 5:2, we see that Bethlehem will be the birth place of Messiah. But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting - Micah 5:2. Mary and Joseph went from Nazareth to Bethlehem and there Jesus was born - Luke 2:4-7.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are the promise keeper. We thank You for coming to this world as Savior and we believe that You will fulfill all the promises in our life. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Spread The Good News

And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”- Mark 16:15.

The shepherds received the good news about the birth of Jesus from angels and they immediately went to see Jesus. After seeing Jesus, they began spreading the word of what they have seen. Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child. And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds - Luke 2:17,18.
Simeon prophesied about Jesus when the parents brought the child Jesus to the temple. He took Jesus in His arms and blessed Him. He said that He is a light to bring revelation to the Gentiles. And Joseph and His mother marveled at those things which were spoken of Him - Luke 2:33.
Anna, a prophetess who did not depart from the temple of Jerusalem spoke about Jesus to others. And coming in that instant she gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of Him to all those who looked for redemption in Jerusalem - Luke 2:38. Let us also spread the good news about Jesus Christ to others as soon as possible like the shepherds, Simeon and Anna.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Jesus Came To Save Us From Our Sins

And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world – 1 John 2:2.

Jesus came to this world to save us from our sins. And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins - Mathew 1:21. God loved us so much and so He gave His only son. God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him - John 3:16-17.
We are redeemed and justified by the grace of God. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus (Romans 3:23). Jesus paid the penalty of all our sins. He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him - 2 Corinthians 5:21. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost - Luke 19:10.
And being found in human form, He humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross - Philippians 2:7. As God had saved us, sin cannot have dominion over us. Sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace - Romans 6:14. Glory to God, our savior!!

PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are our Savior. We thank You for coming to this world to save us from our sins. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Three Wise Men

Then Herod, when he had secretly called the wise men, determined from them what time the star appeared – Mathew 2:7.

The three wise men gave their time, talent and treasures when Jesus was born. They travelled far and followed the star to see Jesus. After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, 'Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him"- Matthew 2:1-2.
They also brought gifts to Jesus and worshipped Him. And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh - Matthew 2:11.
The gift gold represents Jesus as king. Frankincense represents Jesus as priest and Myrrh speaks of His death. Let us seek God like the three wise men by giving our time, talent and treasures to God. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart - Jeremiah 29:13.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are the king of kings and Lord of Lords. Help us to give our time, talent and treasures to You like the three wise men. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Prince of Peace

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6.

Our God is the Prince of Peace who rules over peace. He came to this world to bring us peace. Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!  - Luke 2:14. God made peace through the blood of His cross(Colossians 1:20). Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ - Romans 5:1.
God gives us His peace in every way. Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid - John 14:27. Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all - 2 Thessalonians 3:16.
God will keep us in perfect peace, if our mind is stayed on Him. You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You - Isaiah 26:3. May the Prince of Peace fill us with great peace. The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace - Numbers 6:24-26.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are the Prince of Peace. Let Your perfect peace rule our hearts and minds in all situations of our life. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Everlasting Father

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6.

We are the children of the Most High God. He will never leave us nor forsake us. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. His love towards us is everlasting. I have loved you with an everlasting love - Jeremiah 31:3. How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! - 1 John 3:1.
Our everlasting father loves us, protects us and provides us. And in the wilderness. there you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place - Deuteronomy 1:31. As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him - Psalm 103:13.
We are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God, our father. “O Lord you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are the work of your hands.” - Isaiah 64:8. God came to this world to make us His own children. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father - Romans 8:15.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are our everlasting father. We thank You for Your great love, protection and provision. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Mighty God

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6.

We serve a mighty God. There is no one mightier than our God. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last - Revelation 22:13. The Mighty God is in our midst. The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save - Zephaniah 3:17.
Our God is so mighty that even the winds and water obey Him. And they were afraid, and marveled, saying to one another, “Who can this be? For He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him!” – Luke 8:25. His name is mighty God. Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm - Matt.8: 26b.
People marveled at the authority of His teaching. And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching - Mathew 7:28. God is mighty to save us. Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save – Isaiah 59:1. He is mighty to help us and there is nothing too hard for the Lord. What a mighty God we serve.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are the mighty God. We thank You for doing mighty things in our life. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Counselor

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6.

Our God is a wonderful counselor who counsels us when we need wisdom. I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye – Psalm 32:8. Though we have many plans in our heart, only the counsel of God will stand. There are many plans in a man’s heart, nevertheless the Lord’s counsel - that will stand – Proverbs 19:21. The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations - Psalm 33:11.
The Holy Spirit will teach us all things and there is no one needed for us to teach. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you - John 14:26. Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, Who teaches you to profit, Who leads you by the way you should go" - Isaiah 48:17.
God will lead us and guide us in the ways we do not know. I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them. - Isaiah 42:16. Let us seek the wise counsel of God in every step of our life who will lead us in the path of righteousness.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are our wonderful Counselor. Open our hearts, minds and eyes to receive Your counsel. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6.

The birth of Jesus was wonderful. Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel - Isaiah 7:14. The angel of God announced the shepherds about the birth of Jesus in a wonderful way. His perfect life in earth was wonderful. All His teachings were wonderful. The miracles He did were wonderful.
God’s creation and His works were wonderful. I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, and on Your wondrous works - Psalm 145:5. His name is Wonderful. Then Manoah said to the Angel of the Lord, “What is Your name, that when Your words come to pass we may honor You?”.  And the Angel of the Lord said to him, “Why do you ask My name, seeing it is wonderful?” – Judges 13:17,18.

Do Not Be Afraid

I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me.  He freed me from all my fears - Psalm 34:4

Mary, Joseph, and Shepherds were very much afraid before the birth of Jesus. When the angel visited and greeted Mary, she was troubled. Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God” – Luke 1:30. The shepherds were greatly afraid when an angel stood before them. Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people - Luke 2:10. The shepherds went to Bethlehem to visit Jesus after they heard the joyful news about his birth.
Joseph was afraid to take Mary as his wife when he found that she was pregnant. The angel told Joseph not to fear to take Mary with him as the child is of the Holy spirit. But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit – Mathew 1:20. All their fears were turned into joy.
God does not want us to live with fear. As God is our shield, nothing can harm us. Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand - Isaiah 41:10. God is always with us. The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. Psalm 46:7.

PRAYER : Dear Lord, You are Emmanuel who is always with us. Take away all fears from us and uphold us with Your righteous hand. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

Joseph - A man who obeyed God

When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. Mathew 1:24.

Joseph who was the earthly father to Jesus came from the tribe of Judah. He was first mentioned in Matthew 1:16-25. He was a Carpenter and referred to as a righteous man. Joseph was betrothed to Mary. As Mary was found to be pregnant by the Holy spirit, he decided to put her away secretly. During that time, an angel appeared to him in dream and told about the plan of God.
But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. Mathew 1: 20. He accepted God’s plan and obeyed God with faith. He did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.
Joseph received guidance and revelation from God step by step. When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. ‘Get up,’ he said, ‘take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him’” (Matt. 2:13). Joseph obeyed God and took Mary and child to Egypt. Jesus learned from his earthly father on how to obey God, no matter the cost. May the life of Joseph inspire us during this Christmas season.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to be righteous. Let us always receive guidance from You and obey to Your word. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Light In The Darkness

The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned – Mathew 4:16.

Jesus came into this world as the light of the world. Jesus himself said “I am the light of the world” in John 8:12. The word became flesh and dwelt among us so that we can see the light in the darkness.  Isaiah 9:2 says, “The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone.”
God had called us out of darkness into marvelous light. But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light - 1 Peter 2:9. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:5.
We are the light of the world (Mathew 5:14). If we follow Jesus, we will never walk in darkness and have the light of life. God is light and in Him there is no darkness at all. In God’s light, we see light. Let us be a light this Christmas and shine for Jesus so that people in the darkness will be saved.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are the light of the world. We thank You for calling us out of darkness into marvelous light. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
