For with God nothing will be impossible - Luke 1:37.
God sent the
angel Gabriel to Nazareth to a virgin called Mary. The angel went to her and
said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.” Mary was greatly troubled at his words and
wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, “Do
not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God." - Luke 1:29-30. The angel told that she will conceive and give birth to a son called Jesus who will be great and who will be called the son of the Most High.
Mary
asked the angel how it would be as she was a virgin. God is so great that He calls
into existence the things that do not exist. In the presence of Him whom he
believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not
exist as though they did – Romans 4:17. The angel told Mary that the Holy spirit will come upon her and the power of the Highest will overshadow her.
Also the angel told her about how
Elizabeth conceived a son in her old age and told that with God nothing will be
impossible. Mary believed the promise of
the Lord and submitted herself to God. I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered.
“May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her - Luke 1:38. Let us believe that all things are possible with God and submit ourselves to God.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, You are great and with You all things are
possible. We believe Your promises and submit ourselves to You. In
Jesus name we pray. Amen.
