And let us run with perseverance the
race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of
faith - Hebrews 12:1,2.
To run the race of our lives
successfully, let us fix our eyes on Jesus who is the author and finisher of
our faith. We will be distracted by situations around us unless we fix our eyes
on Jesus. Then I shall not be put to shame, having my eyes fixed on all your
commandments - Psalm 119:6. We need to run the race of our life that is marked
out for us with perseverance and faith by fixing our eyes on Jesus.
Faith is being sure of what we hope for and
certain of what we can’t see. By faith, Abraham went to the land that Lord showed
him without even knowing where he is going. By faith, Moses did not consider the luxuries
of Pharaoh’s household and instead he identified himself as one of God’s people
and endured slavery. They ran the race of their lives by fixing their eyes only
on God by faith.
Peter began to sank when he took the eyes off
Jesus while He was walking on water. But
when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink
he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”. And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand
and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”. And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased
- Mathew 14:30-32. Instead of looking on our problems, let us fix our eyes on
Christ who is the author and perfecter of our faith.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, Help us to fix our
eyes always on You and not on our situations. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
