Follow His Steps

 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps - 1 Peter 2:21.

               God left His footsteps for us to follow Him. He humbled Himself and came to the world in the appearance of a man. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross - Philippians 2:8. He was obedient to the will of Father and suffered for us. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls - Matthew 11:28,29.

              Let our attitude be same as Christ. Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ - 1 Corinthians 11:1. Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect - Matthew 5:48. For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens - Hebrews 7:26. But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct - 1 Peter 1:15. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked - 1 John 2:6. My sheep hear My voice and I know them, and they follow Me - John 10:27.

                We will never walk in darkness but have the light of life when we follow Jesus. Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life” - John 8:12. We are called to follow the steps of Jesus by denying ourselves and taking up His cross. Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me” - Matthew 16:24. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me - Matthew 10:38.                                                 

PRAYER: Dear Lord, We thank You for leaving us an example for us to follow Your steps. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
