Mary Has Chosen That Good Part

Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her - Luke 10:42.

Martha

Martha was worried and distracted by so many things  and she failed to hear the Word of God. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore, tell her to help me” – Luke 10:39. And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her” - Luke 10:41,42.

Mary

Mary had chosen the good part by sitting at the feet of Jesus and hearing His word. Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word - Luke 10:38.

Like Mary, let us also choose the good part of seeking God first instead of being worried and distracted by the world. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you - Mathew 6:33. Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest - Mathew 11:28. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal - 2 Corinthians 4:18. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth - Colossians 3:2.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let us choose the good part in our life by seeking You first instead of worrying about worldly things. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
