A Man who Fears God And Shuns Evil

Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil" - Job 1:8.

Job who feared God was very patient during his sufferings. He did not sin with his lips and he spoke the words of faith. He prayed for his friends and finally God blessed him twice as much as he had before. "Even if these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they would deliver only themselves by their righteousness,” says the Lord God - Ezekiel 14:14.

Job's Patience

Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?. In all this Job did not sin with his lips - Job 2:10. As long as my breath is in me, And the breath of God in my nostrils, My lips will not speak wickedness, Nor my tongue utter deceit - Job 27:3,4. As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about - James 5:11.

Job's Faith

Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him - Job 13:15a. For He performs what is appointed for me, And many such things are with Him - Job 23:14. I know that You can do everything, And that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You - Job 42:2. He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted - Job 9:10. But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold. My foot has held fast to His steps; I have kept His way and not turned aside. I have not departed from the commandment of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth More than my necessary food - Job 23:10-12. For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth - Job 19:25.

Job's Prayer & God's blessings

And the Lord restored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. Indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before - Job 42:10.  For he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and one thousand female donkeys. He also had seven sons and three daughters - Job 42:13. After this Job lived one hundred and forty years, and saw his children and grandchildren for four generations. So Job died, old and full of days - Job 42:16,17.

How abundant are the good things that you have stored up for those who fear you - Psalm 31:19.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Abundant are the good things that you have stored up for all those who fear you. Let us be patient, speak the words of faith and pray for others. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
