Devote Yourselves To prayer, Being Watchful And Thankful

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful - Colossians 4:2.

Devote yourselves to prayer

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us - 1 John 5:14. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours - Mark 11:24. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints - Ephesians 6:18. Pray continually - 1 Thessalonians 5:17.

Being watchful

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour  - 1 Peter 5:8. Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak - Matthew 26:41. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober - 1 Thessalonians 5:6.

And thankful

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus - Philippians 4:6-7. In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you - 1 Thessalonians 5:18.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let us devote ourselves to prayer being watchful and thankful. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
