Kindness

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you (Ephesians 4:32).

God’s kindness is revealed to us as He gave His one and only son to save us. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy (Titus 3:4-5). In Psalm 63:3, David praised God saying, “Your loving-kindness is better than life.” Nehemiah said, “You are God, ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, abundant in kindness.” (Nehemiah 9:17).
Kindness is the fruit of the spirit (Galatians 5:22). It is the quality which can be shown in our speech and action. It is a characteristic of true love. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud - 1 Corinthians 13:4. God’s kindness is shown in provision to us. He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy - Acts 14:17.
Paul tells us to be kind and gentle, tender-hearted toward one another (Ephesians 4:32). As we are God’s chosen people, let us cloth ourselves with kindness. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience - Colossians 3:!2.

Prayer: Dear Lord, We thank You for Your unfailing kindness. Help us to follow Your steps of kindness. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
