It Is Finished

        So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit - John 19:30.

               The sixth word that Jesus spoke on the cross is "It is finished". Jesus came down to earth from heaven to do the will of Father who sent Him and not His will. I can of Myself do nothing. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me - John 6:38. I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me - John 5:30. 

                     The purpose of Jesus for coming to this world is to save us from sins. Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! - John 1:29. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost - Luke 19:10. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many - Mark 10:45. Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners - 1 Timothy 1:15.  By the finished work of Jesus on the cross, we are made alive from dead.

             Let us thank God for His finished work on the cross. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed - Isaiah 53:5. I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do - John 17:4. Let us also finish the purpose of God for us. Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature - Mark 16:15.
