Father Forgive Them For They Do Not Know What They Do

Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do - Luke 23:34.

The first word that Jesus spoke from the cross is “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” He prayed for all those who crucified Him. He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors - Isaiah 53:12. Pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you - Mathew 5:44.

Our sins were forgiven and we have redemption through His blood. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace - Ephesians 1:7. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more - Jeremiah 31:34.

Our heavenly Father forgives us as we forgive others. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors - Matthew 6:12. For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins - Matthew 6:14,15.

Let us thank God who had forgiven all our iniquities and forgive others just as He had forgiven us. Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases - Psalm 103:1-3. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you - Ephesians 4:31-32.

PRAYER: Dear Lord,  Let us forgive others just as You had forgiven us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
