Get Up And Pray

When he rose from prayer and went back to the disciples, he found them asleep, exhausted from sorrow. “Why are you sleeping?” he asked them. “Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.” - Luke 22:45, 46.

Jesus prayed more earnestly in the garden of Gethsemane. After praying, He saw the disciples sleeping and told them to get up and pray so that they will not fall into temptation. And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground. When he rose from prayer and went back to the disciples, he found them asleep, exhausted from sorrow. “Why are you sleeping?” he asked them. “Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.” - Luke 22:44-46.

The Spirit helps in our weaknesses and so let us pray always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit. Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered - Romans 8:26. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints - Ephesians 6:18.

Let us get up and pray with the help of Holy Spirit so that we will not fall into temptation. Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak - Matthew 26:41. Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful - Colossians 4:2. Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour  - 1 Peter 5:8. Pray without ceasing - 1 Thessalonians 5:17.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, Let us get up and pray so that we will not fall into temptation. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
